Give An Hour Gala 2012

Our Give an Hour Gala was one of the most moving events with which I have been involved.  As you may know, Give an Hour is an organization dedicated to providing free mental health services to anyone affected by the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.  The organization was founded by Dr. Barbara Van Dahlen -- in her dining room -- 7-years ago and has gone on to grow in statue and respect by providing over 40,000 hours of service to those in need.  I have had the pleasure of working with Barbara since those early days, when her daughters would meet the Board members at her front door and offer us water bottles and carrots to fortify us through those nascent meetings. The Gala was our first and what a success it proved to be!  About half the guests were dressed in black tie and formal gowns, but that is nothing compared to seeing our service men and women in their dress blues.  Very impressive!
