The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is a global investor and
advisor, committed to promoting sustainable projects in developing
countries that are economically beneficial, financially and
commercially sound, and environmentally and socially sustainable. The
IT systems in use at the IFC, until they were recently brought under control of
a central management system, grew in an organic stove-piped fashion.
The effort to centralize the systems started in the ramp-up, addressing
potential Y2K issues.
The central design of the business warehouse was completed by a number
of contractors under direction of the IFC IT management. The system
that evolved became known as the Equity Portfolio Management System
(EPMS).
This EPMS is an enterprise-management application suite that was built
as the transaction component for the multi-billion dollar international
equity portfolio. After assisting with the construction of the central
data warehouse, MadWolf was asked to continue to develop applications containing
customized VB modules for Valuation Management and back-end feeds for
integration with legacy data stores. We were also asked to supply tight integration with
COTS transaction packages like Analytx's Venture Complete.
Today, MadWolf's contributions support investment in equities, funds,
percentage-of-ownership securities, and illiquid ventures.
