KTA Group, Inc. was founded in 1989 as an engineering design and consulting firm with an emphasis on healthcare design. They soon expanded their client base with the design of telecommunications space, mission critical space, commercial interiors, government buildings, and schools. KTA has grown to be a nationally recognized leader in mechanical, plumbing, and electrical engineering (MEP) design. In addition to MEP design, their 100-person firm also provides third party code review to their clients.

MadWolf is rebuilding KTA’s old system that is used by their engineers and managers to track projects. Tracked elements include hours spent, resources used, and phase/task completion, among others. MadWolf is using the PR application to ensure that all of KTA's engineering projects are meeting local government regulations.

The Peer Review Tracking (PRT) system is to be implemented as a browser-based application with a Microsoft SQL Server back-end.

In discussions with the KTA Group, MadWolf has suggested that an improved and flexible system that helps KTA meet its tracking and project management requirements regarding the peer review of engineering projects would benefit and expedite the current application and process.

The current PRT application does not meet the specific needs of tracking and managing the engineering projects. In addition, the application is based on a poorly designed database schema. Dozens of improvements have been requested and gathered.

MadWolf is proposing to develop a new application that meets the additional requirements while maintaining all of the current functionality. The current applications and database will run parallel with the new application, which will use an improved project management database. This will allow the other associated applications and reporting systems to function as expected.
