New SharePoint Site Templates

In the past, Microsoft has made designing the perfect intranet site easy by offering SharePoint site templates. Now Microsoft is introducing three new templates, retail, non-profit and Healthcare.

The new templates are designed to help organizations better track, manage information, and collaborate according to Microsoft.
SharePoint site owners will see the new templates when you open the template gallery. Below are some details about the new templates.
Retail:

The new retail management and store collaboration templates allow retail customers to manage the store operation more efficiently and foster a better collaboration environment.

Non-profit:

The new volunteer center template will allow organizers to point volunteers to one place to find key information, access learning materials, and connect with other volunteers.

Healthcare:

The new healthcare collaboration template will allow medical practices and healthcare agencies with a safe, secure way to share information that can help you provide better patient care and reduce operational costs.

As a refresher for SharePoint site owners, the site templates have the following features:

Can be applied immediately after site creation or can be applied to existing sites.
Fully customizable home pages that come with pre-populated content and web parts.
News post templates that help users quickly and consistently publish news.
Pre-built pages, lists, and document library folders that make it easy to build sites and inspire your own custom content.
Each template has its own customization guidance to help site owners and editors get started.

SharePoint site owners can expect to see the new templates beginning in early November.
