Mirror Your Video In MS Teams Update

On your own video feed in a Teams meetings, you will no longer have to see the text flipped on a virtual background with text in it. You will have the option to un-mirror and see the text correctly.

When you preview your video feed in Teams meeting, any text in the background appears back to front and when you point at something your hand goes the ‘wrong’ way. You will soon be able to fix this.

This update has been rolled out to Standard and GCC clients earlier this year, but now GCC-H and DoD are scheduled to receive the update beginning in late May and scheduled to be complete in late June.

This update will affect all video in the following scenarios:
  • Gallery
  • Large gallery
  • Preview videos
  • PowerPoint sharing
  • PowerPoint live
This option provides the user the option to un-mirror their view and thereby see text correctly users will have to set the toggle to Off.

The default will be Mirror my video = yes (how you currently see yourself without this feature).
