Office 365 Updates for the Week of June 17
Teams Visibility in SharePoint
- SharePoint and Microsoft Teams are designed to work together. As a matter of fact, Microsoft has coined the phrase “SharePoint powers teamwork in Office 365”. At Microsoft Ignite, there were many SharePoint and Teams announcements slated for release throughout this year to further enhance the integration between SharePoint and Teams. Today, users can already highlight SharePoint files, lists, pages and news right inside of Microsoft Teams. This allows users to use only one environment to get their work done. Beginning this month, Microsoft is rolling out one of those new features. New for this month, First Release tenants will begin seeing their environments updated with the ability to see which document library folders are connected to a Teams channel. This means that Teams features such as conversation history will be visible and actionable. SharePoint will also help users to understand which actions can only performed in the Teams app such as renaming or deleting a channel. In the example below, you will notice the Teams functions in the updated document library.
